Day 02 : Hassan - Dharmasthala - Venur - Moodbidri
Morning, after breakfast, at 8 AM, depart from Shravanabelagola and drive to Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, one of the important pilgrim centers of Karnataka and known for religious tolerance. On arrival at Dharmasthala, visit Chandranathaswami Basadi (Jain Temple) located nearby Nelyadi Beedu (beside Car Museum), then visit Lord Manjunathaswami Temple (Hindu Temple and major attraction of Dharmasthala) and then proceed to visit statue of Bhagawan Bahubali (Gommateshwara). Then drive to Venur, once the seat of Jainism, known for 38 feet monolith statue of Bhagawan Bahubali built by Thimmanna Ajila in 1604 AD. Visit the statue and nearby Jain basadis and drive to Moodbidri, one of the important religious centers for Jains nestled in the nature's beauty. Moodbidri is popularly known as Jain Kashi because the town houses 18 beautiful Basadis (Jain temples); sacred scriptures of Jainism, the Dhawalas found in their original form on palm leaves 4500 in number. On arrival at Moodbidri, check in to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 : Moodibidri
The third day of your Jain Temple tour package, you are full day free for temple visits at Moodbidri. First (at 6.30 AM) visit Badaga Basadi, the 16 century temple housing idol of Lord Chandranatha. Then visit Tribhuvan Tilak Chudamani Basadi (Thousand Pillar Temple) is ornately carved in the Vijayanagar style and is the largest basadi compared to other Basadis. Then visit other Basadis, Amongst the 18 Basadi, the most famous are Hire Basadi (Ammanavara Basadi), Shettra Basadi, Leppada Basadi, Guru Basadi, Derammashetti Basadi, Patashala Basadi, Kallu Basadi and other remaining Jain Basadis. Evening, visit to Ancient Jain Pond (Betkeri water pond) and National archaeological monument Jain Tomb (Samadhis of Jaina Ascetics). Return to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 04 : Moodbidri - Varanga - Humcha - Shivamogga (Shimoga)
Morning, after breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Varanga, a popular Jain pilgrim center nestled in the nature beauty. This beautiful village houses most ancient and wonderful Basadis (Jain Temples). On arrival at Varanga, visit 1200 year old Neminatha Basadi, Chandranatha Basadi and a beautiful Kere Basadi. Kere Basadi is main attraction of the place and situated in the midst of a gentle green lake in Varanga. It seems like a lotus in a pond. This basadi is also called as Jalamandir and can be reached in a small wooden boat. Tranquil lake contrasts well with the sharp quadrilateral architecture of the basadi and gentle swaying hills at the distance. The Kere Basadi is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath, the 23rd Tirthankara and also houses Lord Shanthinatha, Lord Ananthanatha and Lord Neminatha in Kayotsarga posture facing four different directions and then drive to Humcha, a small and beautiful village located in Shimoga district known for 8 century Jain temple. The holy temple is dedicated to Goddess Padmavathi and known for its cultural and historical heritage. Jain devotees of this holy place are everywhere throughout India and also in foreign countries. Thousands of devotees come to the Humcha, an Athishya Kshetra every year for fulfillment of their desires. On arrival at Humcha, visit Goddess Padmavathi temple and the visit Lord Parshwanatha temple, Marthanda Basadi, Bogara Basadi and Jattigaraya Basadi in the Mutt premises. Evening, drive to Shivamogga (Shimoga), on arrival at Shimoga, check in to the hotel and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 05 : Shivamogga - Simhanagadde Jwalamlini - Bangalore
Morning, after breakfast, check out the hotel and drive to Simhanagadde Jwalamlini Temple, located in the beautiful surroundings at Narasimharajapura or NR Pura in Chikmagalur district. Jwalamalini is Yakshini (guardian spirit) of the Eighth Tirthankara, Shri Bhagwan Chandraprabhu in Jainism and was one of the most widely invoked Yakshinis in Karnataka during the early medieval period. The idol of Jwalamalini is miraculous. The desires of devotees get fulfilled here. On arrival, visit the Jwalamalini temple and get the divine blessings of the Goddess. Then visit the other temples dedicated to Lord Chandraprabhu, Lord Parshvanath and Bhagwan Santhinath at Jwalamalini Atishaya Kshetra. Then drive to Bangalore, on arrival at Bangalore, you will be transferred to the Airport or Rilway Station or your residence at Bangalore. Trip ends.
